In an attempt to cut costs for the laboratory, before testing was compulsory for all employees, these hats were offered as compensation for test subjects.

Initially, everyone was quite excited. What a lovely orange hat, many of them exclaimed.
They quickly realized that having TWO lovely orange hats was unnecessary, and when it got to three they began to feel that someone was being made a fool of, but they weren't sure who.

They decided to go on strike, at which point they were all fired, and their hats were repossessed, to be made available to you
